More about Drymix Tamar Blend Mortar
Cornerstone Drymix Tamar Blend is a dry ready mixed multipurpose lime mortar for general building, bedding and pointing work. Available in one colour, light grey, with attractive slate inclusions.
Engineered with precision, using 100% pure natural hydraulic lime, natural sands, and conservation-appropriate additives to create high-performance mortar replicating the historic mortars found in the Tamar Region of the Southwest of England. Available as standard with Saint-Astier® NHL3.5. Other binders and mix ratios are available upon request.
Well-suited for stonework applications featuring a large joint or projects looking for a coarse light grey buff finish.
- Conservation appropriate additives
- Colour matched to historic mortars in the River Tamar region
- Features a light grey mortar with slate inclusions after finishing
- No pigments to combat colour fading
- Vapour permeable to support moisture management
- Well suited to larger jointed stonework
- Decreased likelihood of shrinkage cracking
Suitable for internal or external use, where the binder strength is appropriate for the host background or surface.
Drymix Tamar Blend is suitable for general building and pointing work applications, including where the joint and bed size exceeds 10mm or projects aiming for a pale grey asethetic. Explore Drymix Coarse for a creamy buff finish for stonework. Appropriate for various project types, including conservation, renovation, or sustainable construction.
Drymix Tamar Blend prefers masonry with a degree of suction, so masonry units such as engineering bricks may be more challenging to work with.
A 25kg bag will produce approximately 15 litres of mortar and fill roughly 1.5m² of joint. The width and depth of the joint will influence this estimation. On-site trials are advised for the best yield indication for your specific project.
As natural products, our kiln-dried sands may exhibit variations in colour, texture, and shape. While these variations are minimal, when colour consistency is crucial, we strongly advise each elevation is completed using material from the same batch.
Supplied in 25kg polythene-lined and colour and batch-coded paper bags for easy identification on-site. Palletised for ease of transport, storage, and handling. FIBC tonne bags are also available.
Do not use in temperatures below 5°C or above 30°C, or if freezing conditions are predicted within the following few weeks, including wind chill. We always advise following best practices for curing and protecting fresh mortars. Protect from adverse environmental conditions, including frost, rain, direct sunlight and drying winds.
Store in covered and dry conditions, protected from environmental conditions, including water, damp or frost and clear from the ground. Always reseal packaging if product is still present.
Always read the available documentation before use. See the Download Documentation section below for more detailed product information, application guidance and datasheets.
