Burnt Sand Mastic is a traditional compound for forming joints between timber windows, door frames, render or masonry. Available in 12 colours, with custom colours available on request.

A traditional mastic utilising oil, driers and burnt sand designed to harden slowly but remain flexible to efficiently reduce the risk of cracking when forming joints. Available as standard with 1 part oil to 4 parts powder.

Well-suited for forming an effective and weather-tight joint between wooden or metal window or door frames and lime render or plaster.

Burnt Sand Mastic is suitable for the joints between masonry and wooden or metal window or frames as the final fillet to reduce water absorption through a thin section of the wall and prevent the reveals internally from getting damp and developing mould. Available in 12 colours to suit the majority of traditional and contemporary structures. Please note that colours represented online are indicative. Sample tablets are available upon request. Appropriate for various project types, including conservation, renovation, or sustainable construction.

Burnt Sand Mastic should not be used to repair damaged arises or defective renders. Always ensure any repair work required is adequately completed before any mastic work begins.

Supplied in 16kg tubs in two parts, including 16kg of burnt sand and 2.5L of oil driers as an oil blend to provide a volumetric mix of 4 parts powder to 1 part oil, the standard mix ratio. The width and depth of the joint will influence this estimation. On-site trials are advised for the best yield indication for your specific project.

Burnt Sand Mastic takes some time to fully cure and harden, although this is temperature dependant. Do not use in temperatures below 5°C or above 30°C, or if freezing conditions are predicted within the following few weeks, including wind chill. We always advise following best practices for curing and protecting fresh mortars. Protect from adverse environmental conditions, including frost, rain, direct sunlight and drying winds.

Store in covered and dry conditions, protected from environmental conditions, including water, damp or frost and clear from the ground. Always reseal packaging if product is still present.
